Rootstock, a field to table celebration of gorgeous Alberta food and drink and amazing music, happened August 13th, 2016 at Fallentimber Meadery. Senses were dazzled by Chef David Cousineu, performances by Reuben and the Dark, Gabrielle Papillon, Folk Road Show and Beyries while everyone came together to support Food Water Wellness Foundation in building the tools for a viable local food system.
Rootstock: A Field to Table EventA four-course tour de tasty menu was crafted from locally grown ingredients featuring David Cousineau from Banff’s Bison, Barb Thomas from Love2Eat with desserts by Michael Tilley of Rouge. Dinner was served in a tent furnished with a country-chic mix of white tablecloths, mason jars, fresh flowers and candles, all nestled in the hay field and pine forest of the Water Valley foothills.

Fallentimber Meadery and Eau Claire Distillery served signature cocktails from while guests browsed a farmers market and enjoyed a chance to connect with sustainable local farmers. The evening was fueled by Fallentimber’s mead (honey wine) and craft beer and included a unique silent auction and raffle. On stage we had some of the freshest talent in Canada - Reuben and the Dark, Gabrielle Papillon, the Folk Road Show and Beyries.
